Vinyl Altar
The
sound of welsh hymns and choirs emerges from
the past, hissing and crackling, repeating
fragments, shifting and merging to create
new uncertain rhythms. Using old record players
and old recordings, the music is fragmented
and reformed.
Created
in 2005 as part of Capel at Capel Crannog,
Llangrannog. Subsequently used at Pilgrim’s
Process at ‘Private Views’, Tregaron
2005. Part of ‘Art is Not Mute’
at Ersta Konsthall, Stockholm, Sweden, and
ICA-Dunaújváros, Hungary, in
September 2007.
