The sound of welsh hymns and choirs emerges
from the past, hissing and crackling, repeating

fragmented and reformed.

Capeli:Capel Crannog (2007) - This DVD documents GWRANDO’s two-week residency at capel Crannog, Llangrannog, a site-specific investigation into the role of the chapel in the communities, culture and landscape of Wales. A group of artists created work in response to the site and also created ways for the community to participate, setting up a temporary choir, open music sessions, interactive games, and opportunities to help document the project. ’The
Main Event’ includes excerpts from
Jacob Whittaker’s ‘Pererin Digidol’,
as well as performances by the temporary
choir and the ‘abstract and beautiful’
collaborative work by Lou Laurens and Jacob
Whittaker. This was followed on the night
by a sequence of short films. Included here
are 9 films made during and after the residency.
